Elect Democrat

Kelabe Tewolde

for State House

A New Generation of Leadership

As a kid, Kelabe moved around all over Seattle because no matter how hard his mother worked, her wages could not meet the high costs of rent, food, and healthcare. And as an adult working as an educator, the rising cost of living and the high cost of housing makes the dream of owning a home out of reach.

Kelabe will build pathways to affordable housing and home ownership by:

  • Fighting for legislation to protect renters and ban junk fees and regulations that inflate basic utilities on many renters.

  • Ensuring communities that have faced red lining have a legal “right of first refusal” to buy their buildings when owners want to sell.

  • Advocating for investments in social housing across the state that will allow families to stay in place
